Break the Package, Lower the Price
In the lighting industry lump sum pricing is the accepted norm. A lighting package is also a strategic tool to hide line-by-line item costs. As such it is a mechanism to inflate the overall cost to the end user and profit to the seller.
As consumers we are used to shopping the internet for the best price. In the commercial world this is not always yet the case and it’s not in the best interest of our customers. After all, we are moving into the age of transparency. Imagine what would happen if you went to a store to buy a pair of shoes and were told you couldn’t purchase them without the coat?
We need to break out the lighting package in order to promote pricing transparency and avoid profiteering. Ask for individual line-by-line item pricing.
